Chopper man - what you can do is get on EBAY and watch out for a REALLY cheap transmitter. Remembering that it doesn't really have to work all that well because it will just be a buddy box. I picked up a dead transmitter a couple of months ago just for parts to repair an old unit that they didn't stock parts for any more. Got it for $8.
