thanks for the reply Mike, i have reset the low speed needle w/o collar. it is now set to when the throtle is closed so is the low speed needle any more and it will flood or dead stick @ low-mid rpm range. the more i richen the low speed the sooner it will kill. it will perform great on the ground but in the air it will dead stick when throttle is @idle and a high trim which will run fine on ground. high speed is still within factory setting but leaned all the way.
Set your idle mix to where Minn recommended as a starting point. Then set the high speed needle. Reduce the throttle and see how the idle mix is behaving via the "pinch test" and the "acceleration" tests. Re-adjust the idle mix if needed. Reset the high speed mix and begin test sequence again. It's a balancing act and can take a while to get right. Make sure the high speed needle isn't loose and spinning on it's own with the vibration as I have seen it happem.
