Default RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I have been skimming the new post from today and here is my opinion on some questions asked as well as things said. The Traxxas engines are very fast but lack torque. I will not say any more at I am not getting in to a flame! I raced my MT when it still had the OS .15 CV-RX in it at our local track. Being we did not have many racers or classes they put me in the stadium truck class that ran both nitro and brushless. I won about 50% of the races even thaw my truck was more then likely the slowest one there, as all out speed is not what wins races. Consistency, the driver and keeping it on rubber does. Yes slow is fast lots of times.

I do not breaking in any of my engine buy idling tanks of fuel through them. Yes on my STS D21B I did do some short couple of minutes of idling before doing my running break in but not tanks at a time or more then a couple of minutes at a time. The reason being the pinch was so tight on it. Most of my break in I fire it up and once it stays running I start running it. We know that a nitro engine when broke in and tuned for performance is bad about loading up setting still just think on a new overly rich engine and this puts a lot of stress on the rod as well as other parts.

Pipe right now with my TZ I am running the Associated RPM but plain on trying HPI new pipe when it is available at Towers. If I do not like it I will get the OS T-1040 R70. There are a lot of good pipes out there.

Speaking of the HPI MT1 Racer that is what my MT started life as years ago.
