When you press 'f', what is the frame rate that you get (see upper left of screen)?

The turbulence wind is the most computationally intensive in the sim.

It also depends on what airplane you're flying and what site. The Ultimate TOC is THE most demanding aircraft in the simulator for both graphics and aerodynamics. The Firebird is the least demanding. So if you can report back the frame rate, plane and site, that will give us more info.

The sim will also run faster if you turn OFF 'sync to vertical refresh'. Maybe you've already done that.
