I use an inline filter on all my racers. As long as it's not clogged, it won't effect fuel feed. If it gets clogged, consider that it saved all that dirt from going through your engine. Here's the filter I use, along with instructions for it, and a picture of it installed on a Q40. As the instructions say, you should backflush the filter after every day of flying to keep it clear.
