First off I'd like to say a big hello to everyone on this forum. Very informative and well articulated posts. This is the best forum that I have been a part of so far.
A little history of me: I started flying RC when I was around 14 or so(32 now) and loved it. After an unfortunate maiden flight on my trainer .60 size, I sort of got out of it. Then after I moved away from home I became interested again. I bought and built a Tower Trainer 40. I flew it a couple of times with an instructor and did a few solo flights back at my parents place. Then money and work and school all got in my way and the plane got put aside.
A little over a year ago I got into RC trucks due to the fact that if you crash them, it is way cheaper to fix. I've been carting this trainer around through various house moves over the last 7 or 8 years. I tried selling it but my girlfriend wouldn't let me, bless her heart. She just knew that I would want to fly again someday.
So now here I am with a trainer in perfect shape with some problems. Firstly is the batteries. Dead dead dead. Glued right in there. Well not glued per say, but the wood holding everything in place is glued. Should use my dremel and cut the wooden braces out and then reattach more braces after I replace the batteries? Or is there a better way to do it?
Secondly is the fuel tank. I need to get at it in order to replace the fuel lines and clean or replace the tank. How in the heck do I get at it? It's tightly in there behind glued braces and whatnot too.
Thanks to anyone who can help me out here. It's been so long since I put this plane together(it's an ARF) that I can't remember building it at all really. I don't know what was preinstalled and what wasn't or what order that I put stuff in it.
