Default RE: Edge540 26cc

I had no clue to the quality of the aircraft or the engine before placing an order. The only insight was customer feedback. Iplaced an order for a Edge 540 , supprised it arrived in 4 to 5 days, was impressed with the quality so i placed another order for the yak combo. I have put the yak together, nice fit on all the components, the aircraft and the engine were built for each other. I was ok with the hardware package, but some upgrades for the control sufaces would definately improve the quality. the engine and choke servos are directly underneath and to the rear of the engine box. This required some very customized control linkages, i found that the best possible push and pull situations came when crossing the control linkages. The ignition pac that came with the yak was a dud, pulled the ignition out of the edge box and it was a good one. Notified Peak through email of receiving a bad ignition, said they would ship another unit. I like to be sure i have parts on hand so i asked them to ship two and i would pay for one. They charged me $30.00 ad in about 6 days i had two ignition modules, one being a spare. Since this was my first gasser, i had plenty of bugs to work out, radio seperation from ignition, converting to a pcm receiver, bad ignition kill switch, which i had made myself wiwith a servo extension, momentary contact switch(servo operated) and a regular on and off switch for ignition battery.( I would also like to thank all of you who responded to my help call and solved my problems. Second trip to the field was a charm, the yak flies extremely well, I have about 6 to 8 flights on her and engine seems to be performing and running stronger. I have given all interested a chance to fly her and all have liked the feel and stableness of the plane and by the way it lands so easy. The only negative thing i can say about Peak Models are the shipping rates, find a kit or combo with free shipping rates, I understand they can't control this but while a price may seem attractive at first out of country rates can really add to the cost.
