Think of it this way.
Say you've never even ridden a bicycle. Would you try to ride your friend's Kawi 900 cc pocket rocket? In your living room?
Well, maybe you would. But would you be very successful?

Please start with a milder helicopter.
Many have had a lot of fun with coaxials until they can hover, then go on to something like the BCPP as an intermediate step before the TRex.
I do hover my MX400Pro in the living room but it is very scary and if it hit me it would probably kill me.

And as far as a radio goes, the Spektrum DX6/DX7 is definitely the way to go.
