RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

NEVER CUT YOUR RX ANTENNA WIRE ON ANY AM OR FM RADIO, you will definitely have problems with it going out of range as close as 10ft. The RX antenna wire is cut to size using special tuning tools at the factory, no 2 RX antenna wires are the same length even though they may look like the same. Back in the day if we had to replace an RX antenna wire I would install a new one 2ft long, then I would have one of my friends go a block away with the TX while I had the car. Then I would have my friend move the steering back and forth while I cut the wire down in 1/2in increments until it was not glitching anymore. This was the best way to tune it without sending the RX back to the factory for tuning. The factory of coarse has special tuning tools to make it perfect but my method worked pretty good. I got this tip from a seasoned guy I trusted in my LHS many years ago.
As for the Nitro Devil rear pipe I have one and I love it. I switched from a ported stock HPI header and a tunable Cvec pipe. When I installed the rear exhaust I noticed I got more bottom end power and slightly less top end which I was happy with. I rather have more bottom end power (torque) then top end power (HP). It helps the truck power through the rough terrain like grass better. As for it getting damaged I have not had a problem as of yet. I did have to readjust the header pipe a couple of times by bending it away from the shock towards the center of the truck so it would not interfere with the trucks full range of motion rubbing against the shock. But I do have my shocks moved in one hole on the shock tower, which gives me less room to work with. The header pipe is very soft aluminum and bends easy. I hope I never have to replace it because I readjusted it too many times.
