My wife couldn't care less about this hobby except for how much it costs.
You sure got that right. Mine complained loudly every time I brought home a new plane or kit until I compared what my planes cost compared to how much a season's worth of hay, and trimming and shoeing her horses every six weeks, plus the year's worth of vet bills added up to, and
the fact that I had more planes at the end of that year, and she still had only two horses.
She knows flying is my outlet to "let off steam" and relax, keeps me off the streets and out of the bars
Well, I guess I'm pretty well screwed because the first ain't true and we don't have any horses! She does however have two pets, a dog and a cat....but they seem to love me more though...[
