I have always thought a pipe was for high RPMS(pylon racing and such). For a fun-fly/3D plane, I thought you wanted mid-range. Are you guys just tuning the pipe for the mid-range? If so does the top end suffer? I'm putting together a Flip with a YS63 and then a GP UC3D, but not sure of engine for the UC3D!

Doug, the OS 50SX on my flip doesn't jump on the pipe until about 3/4 of throttle, and that means that I still have a good midrange and idle and therefore no problems with that. I only use full throttle to climb vertical, or escape out of some sort of mishap !
Can't say anything about the UCD, since I have never had one or flown one.
