The more I think about this little project, I'm inclined to keep the non-essential lighting circuit completely separate from the RX controls. Maybe use a single mechanical swith to turn on the whole system and then a nifty little switch like this one to turn on the approach lights when gear doors open or flaps are lowered. KISS, right? I think Chris is going to totally geek out on the reference site below.
