And my grandmother still watches a B&W TV with tubes! Sure, there'll still be people using 72 MHz twenty years from now just as there'll still be people listening to vinyl records, using film-based cameras, and using VHS VCRs.
And your point is? Why should I replace my radios if they still work and do what I need them to do? Just because something new is available? Sorry, you'll need to come up with a better justification than that. For a pilot that is flying on a crowded field switching to the new radio probably has its advantages, but for me at our field there aren't any. I have better things I can do with my money than dropping $350 on a radio that I don't need right now.
