Default RE: Magnum 91 FS Valve spring stuck...why?

25.4 is the magic number. 0.04 /25.4 = 0.0016!QUOT!. Round this up to 0.002!QUOT! for a tight fit, and 0.004!QUOT! for a loose fit. It is better to be on the loose side, but your 0.006!QUOT! is way off. You want the 0.002!QUOT! feeler to be hard to push in between the valve and rocker. A quick check is to wiggle the rocker and you should feel a bit of !QUOT!wink!QUOT! in it. If it is loose, or tight, you need to adjust. Tightening !QUOT!down!QUOT! to 0.006!QUOT! just doesn't seem right. Do you sense compression at this setting? How much did you tighten the gap to get it to 0.006!QUOT!?

Let us know if you need help in adjusting the valves.

By the way, it isn't the spring that is sticking, but the valve stem, unless a spring broke. Are you running it about 400 to 500 rich from top RPM? What fuel are you using?? The valve could be sticking because of lack of lubrication or from galling due to the same,
