RE: BVM Kingcat Throws
jclittle,
I cannot find my Kingcat manual as it is still in a box (I am guessing here) from my move a year ago. The inches measurement will give you an in the ball park throw setting. The best thing you can do is to buy a throw meter from CRC and begin to use degree settings. Your control throws will be much more acurate and the planes will fly better. The thorw meter from CRC is one of the best investments you can get for jet modeling for $24.95 from Central Hobbies. I am sorry I cannot find the manual, but a call to BVM will get you the settings in inches. I can say from setting up countless Kingcats (well over 40 or 50) since they came out and over 700 flights on my own, the settings I listed above will be a very nice smooth flying bird with absolutely no tendancies of snapping out at any time in flight regardless of what manuever you are doing. This is with the CG set on the dots as per the factory settings. Using the settings listed by Ravill will give you some very hairy flight characteristics during certain flight envelopes, especially during takeoff, landing, and square corners or hard pulls. My settings are lower than what BVM states in the manual, and suit my flying style.
Sounds like the best thing you can do is to exercise teh cell phone and call 407-327-6333, and ask for Tommy Dodgen, he will get you the numbers from the manual.
