FLYIFR,
I am totally pleased that I was in some small way able to help.
Next summer I will drag my Flyin King down to Lake Lanier, and you can buy the beer.

BTW you are not alone. I tried to help a guy once who showed up with a Senior Telemaster with tail really high. He asked for help, wouldn't let me adjust his floats. Somebody else took it out on the lake an ran it around in 30 mph circles until it finally hit a wake and bounced into the air. This is how the legend was born that you need a lot of extra power to fly floats. When I had a SrTele, it would take off from water in about 8 feet, or in 100 feet at less than half throttle ( realistic) . But, when your wing can't get a bite of air, it won't lift.

Side note: Look at the Great Plains Cub on floats in the Tower Catalog, and try to imagine it ever being able to lift off the water.
