I have been using a strap since BEFORE they were available!!...........Way back in 1977, I saw a photo of some European pattern fliers with straps and/or trays and my dad went out and got me a leather saxophone strap to try. We shortened it a bit and modified the attachment clip. I've been flying with a strap and using thumb and index finger ever since. I think that I was just about the only guy flying pylon with a strap though!!
