RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP
Hello all.
I just bought the Blade CP today. It is a very good looking heli I might point out.
I have no RC heli experience. I used to fly RC airplanes.
I have a question. Today, I got the Blade out of the box and did as the manual suggested, check to make sure all was working, align everything, and run the stock battery down to minimal levels. It did run out a bit earlier than I would have wished, but that's okay. I put it on the charger and waited an hour and a half, enough time to give me enough charge to finish aligning everything. Once I had finished that, I took the heli into the entry way of my house and decided to just give it a bit of juice to get it an inch off the ground (a little trim adjustment had to be made to keep the tail rotor from flying all over the place). All was going well but as I got the speed of the main rotor up, the heli started to move sideways. It did not change it's yaw (I believe that's the word....horizontal angle), it just slid sideways. I decided it might have to be the fact that it was on a wooden floor and the air currents were messing with it. I managed then to get it in the air for about three seconds and about a foot high. It still went sideways though. No, I didn't crash. I'm not brave enough to get it any higher yet. hehe. Anyways, does anyone have some suggestions?
I'd rather not spend the money on a simulation program and as for an isntructor, there aren't any flying fields within at least two hours of my house if I recall right.
Any suggestions on the sideways movement issue? Do I just need to get it outside?
