Thats a good question. I have not looked into this option besides looking at the two engines side by side. Your observation may well eliminate that option. I will mock it up tomorrow and let you know. A question for Stickbuilder. If I use a gas engine, with its carburetor fuel pump, can the fuel tank be moved towards the rear. This may free up room for the EI just behind the firewall. I realize you are the kit expert and may not have an answer.

If you have the room in the fuselage, you can mount the tank on the C/G if you are using a pump, and the plane will fly the same full or empty. I have done this for years on aerobatic planes (especially pattern planes) and it works very well. But you need to be sure to have a pumped engine, or a pressure pulse carb (as most gas engines have).
