Regardless if it's a Hitech or Airtronics receiver the channel assignments are the same, as they are dictated by the transmitter. From what he said, only one servo worked because only one was actually plugged into the channel 2 slot. But if both servos are plugged into channel 2 using a Y-harness they should both work no problem.
