Hello Guys
I just got an HPI mt2 .18ss.
I am new to the nitro mt2 and to this forum, but I have been racing 1/10 scale on and off road for years.
In my area mid-west GA. nitro 1/10 scale 2wd stadium trucks are vanishing. I have a 2wd Losi XXX-NT and
if I want to race I have to race against the 4wd monster trucks. the losi does pretty good usually finishing in the top three
if the track is well watered,but most of the time it's not. I do not like the big and clumsy monster trucks or the
the 1/8 scale truggies/buggies. So that leaves me with the 4wd 1/10 scale hpi mt2.
My mt2 will be strickly for racing. I will toss the hpi .18ss engine for a os .15cv-r non p/s w/slide carb and threaded
crank. I think anything bigger would be hard to handle on a track. Other hop-ups are;
gpm 3mm main chassis (heard bad things about gpm,but it's hard to screw-up a 3mm chassis I think?)
hpi non p/s engine mounts and flywheel (a920 & a926) will use a starter box
hpi diff springs, but will try sealing the diffs and fill with 3k and 1k silicone diff fluid
lunsford titanium turnbuckles, hpi aluminum shocks
I am still putting it together. So if any of racers out there have any tips or sit-up adivce it would be
GREATY APPRECIATED!
Welcome to the forum
You most all ready have or know someone that has an OS 15 CV-R as it has been discontinued ever since they came out with the 18 CV-R which is a couple of years now. I am guessing you have checked out the track rules where you plain on racing as many track do not have a 4 wheel drive stadium truck class. If it was like our track we normally had 3 classes do to lack of racers. 1/10 scales anything, 1/8 buggy and truggy and 1/8 monster truck. Where are you racing?

I do believe when I had the OS 15 CV-RX in my MT my Savage would have out run it on the track. Now my Savage is not stock but is running the stock engine. I do no know my Savage has no problem keeping up and beating the Revo. One thing you defiantly need to get for your MT is a set of aluminum knuckles!
