Default RE: G3.5 or FSOne

AND, even at $200 each, owning (and using) several sims as a training aid is still cheaper on a per-crash-basis than the real thing... Anyone who wants to fly better - including the pros (not wannabe poseurs like...err...that's not nice, I'll refrain!) - can learn volumes by practicing a given pattern or maneuver in ALL of the sims and then applying that to the real world. Muscle memory and correct reactions can be taught and retained very well with any sim.

All 5 major sims AND the iMac I fly them on are still less of an investment than my new plane. Besides, how do you get stick time put in when it's raining and blowing 40knots outside? ;-)

I find it funny how easily folks can make empirical statements on how one sim is better than another when it is such a subjective experience.

I have flown RC for 30 years and used Realflight for quite some time to practice and experiment.

I helped behind the counter of a local hobby shop over the Christmas holiday where both FS One and RF G3.5 were available to try and buy.

I personally didn't like the feel of many of the planes in FS One and the controller seemed to have weak springs on the gimbals.

I am not going to tell you that since I prefer G3 that you should go that way. Rather look at and try both of these sims if not AFPD also.

Then decide for yourself.

I agree, I listened to some of those people and as a result have purchased both G3 (now upgraded to 3.5) and FSone. a waste of money I know. but all these guys that say this one is terrible and that one is great, I just don't see it, neither one of them is perfect, think of them as a training aid. that's what any of them are in my opinion.

I own both of them and can honestly say I see no measurable difference between the two as far as flight physics. there are things I like and dislike about both of them. put all the hype out of your head and pick the one YOU like better.

and here is wht I run them on.

ASUS P5B Motherboard
Intel Core 2 DUO Processor at 2.4GHZ
2 Gigs of ram
Nvidia GEForce 7950 GS

runs both of them flawlessly, however, both of these simulators use more CPU than any game I play on the same computer.

Oh No, now I guess we can talk about the whole Nvidia vs ATI thing, aint competition great? LOL
