Default RE: Nose Gear Steering Arm Problem

Hi Bruce.

Yeah, I bought the Fults system a while back, but they were so heavy compared to the original wire setup. But, you are right, and I knew that, it has just become softened by the constant bending/straightening process that I've done with it. Now, the set screw won't even hold things where they belong. SO, I need to move ahead and decide if I want a nose-steering setup and fix it, or convert it over to a tail dragger. This 'old' plane still flys great, engine is fine.. Super Tigre 75 with a tuned pipe.. so I ought to just get on it and do something about it. To tell you the truth, that's the only reason I don't fly it that much lately, is because of the problem with the nose wheel.

I may have to remove the firewall, rebuild that, and put in the Fults system.. or again, just bite the bullett and convert it. One other guy at the field has a Tiger 60 with nose-wheel problems.. ha.. guess I am not the only one that abused my second plane..

Dick.
