I found some cheap kneeling pads and seat cushions in the garden section at Home Depot. They are just a big tan colored 1" thick piece of foam rubber. No covering on them at all, just foam rubber. I have been taking a very sharp kitchen knife and splitting this stuff in half so it is 1/2" thick, and using it in my planes. It is cheap (like $2.00 for the big cushion sized one) and seems to work well. The foam rubber my LHS sells is $5.00 for a small piece of 1/2 inch. Ridiculous!
