Default RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36

I got my DF36 back up tonight. What's a tail motor ? I guess it's time to move on. The DF4 seems so little and tame now. People say the DF36 is sluggish ? They really must have gradually gotten used to a faster heli. I suppose I will too. I just hovered and flew around a little to set it up. I need to practice precision landings with the training gear on, then I am good to go. Still a little twitchy, but I thought the DF4 was when I first started on that. The new DX6 will take some getting used too. The sticks fit my thumbs better.
I bumped the headspeed up a little to a calculated 2300 and it didn't fly apart and the tail response improved greatly. Didn't time it to see what happened to battery time. A big thing I like is how big it is. I can see that one easily from 150 feet away, where the DF4 is too small to accurately maneuver. I can only get it turned towards me and bring it back.
The 36 sure is easier to keep stable for a landing, once it starts traveling in any direction, it holds it's course much better. I went through 3 tail motors this week, and a fourth one is going. I hit a bad batch. Just as well for me, since it time to move on to a bigger heli. I gotta get a big piece of plywood for a pad.
