RE: FS one by Horizon Hobbies
FSOne is a lot like a real RC airplane. If you have a good computer (electronics) your FSOne will work quite well. If you have a cheap computer FSOne will not work well. A PC that meets the minium requirements is probably not enough to run FSOne or anyother flight sim for that matter. Also...the basic OS images that vendors such as HP, Dell and Gateway put on their PC are loaded up with so much junk...even the most powerfull computer will be brought to its knees. If you have anything less than P4 2.8 Ghz 1Gb of RAM and a nVidia 6800 (or ATI equivalent) video card you need to re-think your RC Flight Sim computer strategy. Sorry to make this sound harsh...but it is reality...Cheap computers make for a lousy flight sim experience...just like cheap RC components do the same for flying RC Planes.
I own all three flight sim products. FSOne offers the best interface and most realistic flight model out of the box. With a little tweaking Aerofly Pro Deluxe flies more realistic. As with most flight sims...I did not like FSOne immediately...I knew I would not. It took me many flights to dial in the plane...just like a real RC plane. Now that I have dialed in the Edge...it flies very much like a real hangar-9 Edge 540...This also goes for several other planes on FS-One. I am sure Hangar-9 will provide many more updates to FSOne as has RealFlight and Aerofly. This product will get better with time but it is pretty good as it sits. I do wish H9 would come out with more airplanes quickly. H9 has an awesome interface and great ability to tweak an airplane...but if H9 wants a huge success with this product...they will add other manufacturers planes (BVM not included). Lets get some Extreme Flight, Comp-arf, Aeroworks, Carden and some of the other big ones. H9 also needs to have a resource kit so we can create our own planes....The other guys do it (and have for a while)...and we can find almost any aircraft on the planet to plug in to their interface. The H9 edge scaled to 40% flies much better than the RF or AFPD Edge....but...we are craving more...
