My suggestion to you would be to go to Harbor Freight Tools and buy this
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93983 instead of a new p/u. Alot of SV owners, including myself use the stock rudder water p/u. It works just fine in most cases. With the thermometer, you'll find out if you need to make changes in your overall setup, or not.
I would also recommend removing the silicone water jacket and turning it inside out and inspecting the holes for blockage. This has been the biggest problem with the cooling systems on these boats.

Perfect answer!
One quick test is to take the tube off the rudder and blow through it and put your finger near the exit hole and see how the air flows through. We just saw one on here that was totally blocked. When you turn it inside out to inspect it, understand how it works. The water is to come in direct contact with the motor, there fore when you turn it insideout you should see open holes for the water to travel through. ALot of them have not been finished correctly at the factory and sill have molding left overs in the jacket.
