Default RE: Question for Excelleron 90 owners

I have heard through various threads problems with the control horns, such as you experienced. I have so far been lucky on my Exceleron 50 with the standard hardware.
I am installing the OEM horns but will watch them closely; after every flight inspect.

From my conversations with the global product manager, it seems that they definetly planned on bringing the remedy in about the same time stock for the exceleron 90 was depleted. With that said, the PM also decided that they wanted to makes changes to the remedy that I don't think they were able to forsee. Frankly for me, I'm ok with the wait since it seems as though they are working to provide us with another quality aircraft such as the Exceleron 50 and 90's. I do not have the resources (funding) to be putting into some of these other ships on the market and will very much appreciate a quality kit at a reasonable price.

Frankly with the way the market is right now for pattern ships, I think anyone or manufacture that can produce a ARF kit like these has the potential to make a pretty strong stand out there in the market place.

From reading the Exceleron 90 thread here on RCU, it was quite amazing when Hobby People put those Excelerons out at $199.00 that they were being gobbled up right and left.

I realize cost of manufacturing and distrubiton has gone up some since then, but if another ship in the $200 - $300 price range flies anything like thoose...they would definetly have a winner and IMO a money maker by shear volume.

I have the Excelleron 90 powered with a Saito 1.25 and it is simply the most gorgeous plane i have ever flown!

The flying i do is mainly sport, but i am learning knife edge flying and low inverted too...
Only problem is one of the control horns on the elevator cracked at the base... the resultant flutter broke the stab away from the fuse (the wood fractured) and the stab was tilted at about 30degress... I still had control and was able to land the plane. Repairs have been made but i am still yet to re-fly it... bit nervous actually.

I ended up buying another plane called the Surpass 90 which is the same as the Fliton Infinity 90 (or so it seems) and intend to power it with a Saito 100.
However i intend to follow this thread as the introduction of a Excelleron replacement is something that i think i would definately buy.

My only question is; why discontinue the E90? It is such a brilliant model with no real vices... how are they going to make it better?

regards

Mike
