Default RE: FS one by Horizon Hobbies

ORIGINAL: NormS

I gave myself a copy of FS One as an early christmas present and by and large I'm extremely happy with it. I've had none of the problems that I've read about on the forums and I think the flight physics are pretty realistic, much better then the other sims I've got experience with: RealFlight and FMS. Its clearly a work in progress, but its refreshing to see how Michael Selig and FSOneDev are responsive to posts.

I know that a new release is being worked on, and I thought I would mention a couple of new features for consideration

1) It would be nice if the program remembered my view and widget selection from session to session. I always use the same view and put up the map, compass, and vario rate-of-climb thing and drag them to where I want them on the screen. Its not a real hassle to do it everytime, but it also shouldn't be necessary. It would be acceptable (to me, at least) if the sim just remembered how the screen was set up when it was last shut down, which would probably be easier then adding a save/restore function.

2) More on-line help on transmitter editing would be real useful. It's pretty easy to set up or change expo but I've been unable to figure out how to set up aileron differential or custom mixes, and I have no idea what some of the other fields are for in the transmitter and mixing windows.

3) The popup airplane window in the transmitter section is real nice, as it lets you see how the mixes and controls work on the plane's control surfaces. How about adding the same window to the flying screen?

All in all, I think this is a great program, and exeptionally stable given its complexity and maturity. Keep up the good work, and thanks a lot.

Norm -- Thanks for the feedback.

We'll look into doing something like #1 above. Good suggestion.

We're also working on additional info for help support for transmitter editing.

Actually, if you press the 'I' key when flying, you'll see an "inset" view of the aircraft. However, this only works for 3D flying sites (not Pano sites).
