Default RE: need help with CPP problem

lanny2003,
I just got my CP pro for Christmas (new to helis). I went to the hobby store to get a HH gyro and my buddy there talked me out of it. He told me it would take longer to learn to fly but I would be a better pilot learning to control the rudder with out even thinking. I think he was right. I now hover and noticed I keep the nose centered with out thinking. Now if I can learn to fly around I will be happy.

Good luck and keep at it. Relax and hve fun.
Well I started out on your path and learned tail in hover quite well, also both sides in pretty well with no HH gyro. I had also been advised by my lhs(which by all means is no expert lhs in heli's) not to buy a hh gyro that it was a waste of money.... They are right it will make you a better pilot in the longrun....the very long run. I think that having no HH would be much less of a big deal with a larger nitro trainer, or any other larger (non-motor driven tail) heli. but the bcpp stock tail holding chacteristics simple put stinks.....
I just install a HH gyro a few days ago and just had my first fly outside with it today. I absolutely recomend getting one. I could spend so much more time flying and focusing on pushing my boundries a little than before. I used to have to either adjust rud. trim several times throughout a battery or constantly fly with some rudder input from me to hold the nose...also my tail did not hold position well on bursts of full throttle at all.
Dont get me wrong I am much more comfy with the throt and rudder from learning with the stock setup but I am now having much more fun flying; since I am spending much less effort constantly chasing the tail and constantly having to use more and more right rudder as the battery losses charge. I have one less thing to constantly focus on freeing my brain to put more effort on all the other stuff.

The DD tail and HH gyro made my bcpp a whole new machine and a much much more fun one
