RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!
Tried to post video...it wouldn't let me (format?) I converted my TX to Ni-Cad from an old futaba TX so I don't have battery probs. Remove and replace if they go bad and hard wired in. Got some hovering in last night and accomplished turning in the basement. It's a little tight 20ft x 30ft, but better than before I cleaned it up to gain room. Almost lost it today though. Took off twords a metal object but I reacted in time and brought it back (close one). If all I do is hover in one spot...that's pretty boring for me now. Now I have to make some turns and "try" to hover a pattern. My son's garage really boosted my confidence. Let's keep moving forwrd!
BTW, training wheels...they save your butt. Out side though, I've had them stick in sod and make things worse ( harsh speed/angle ). Just went through another hover/turn thing here in the basement and I'm considering a couple shots at tail out (see RADDS). The only difference would be roll left/right because I can fly it backward and forward with no problem.
Did you get the trim thing straightened out? Zero trim is the essence of a stable and controllable flight. I noticed a few things in the last couple days of hovering. 1. As you continue to hover and the battery drains, it likes to start to pendelum about 3min near the end of the battery and corrections are almost continous at this point to hold solid hover. 2. Within 1 min of the battery draining competely, alt will start to decrease in increments (loosing power) and you can compensate by giving more throttle, and giving you time to position your landing to a precise location. 3. If you have a crappy take off and things are not going smooth...land and start the flight over (it actually works and I don't have a clue as to why). Good luck. Since I'm new, I learn this stuff as I go along. I know I'm going to schmuck this heli again, it's just a matter of time. When it comes to R/C aviation there are two classes of people, those who are gonna crash and those who have crashed.
