I dont know, honestly I am a bit rough with my boat, so I am a bit concerned about lipo's. Still planning on the 12L, it's smaller than the XL and I dont need to run 12c, 8c sounds about right to me. For me this is a huge difference, being my old boat was 16c, this is cutting a lot of weight going brushless. There's nothing that says we have to do the same thing, but if your going to use the lipos, I think your going to have to be careful no matter how you set it up. With this and my last boat, I want to not have to be careful.

btw, went to radioshack, I want to strangle the manager there. Sold me generic pack, telling me it was the GP3300, said yep its the same item number, I just got home cut it open with a box knife and what do I see unmarked neon green cells [:@][:@] Since I'm going down in cell count anyway, I'll order one or two from cheapbatterypacks.com .
