Took the Scorpion up to our local field today as we had clear skies and NO WIND! although it was only 38oF. Purpose of visit was to run the Wren SS and do some taxi / brake tests. The Wren was reluctant to start due to the low temps. affecting the starting gas but a visit to the clubhouse and a kettle of hot water soon warmed it up! Wren ran perfectly after a six month layoff and fuel system checked out ok, only problem being fitting the glow driver between the plug and the side of the fuselage because of the plug position being at 2 o'clock on the SS. I will have to install a remote glow with a jack in the fuselage. Taxing / braking were fine and the Scorpion is now ready for flight testing hopefully this Saturday but the weather is again forecast as 30mph winds and rain.
