Default Warhead engine temp concern

First, to fill you in. I have 4 nitro trucks and many planes with a pretty good ear and knowlege of tuning. I have the 2005 version Warhead, I have put the "Evo" upgrade kit in it...very nice and cheap cost. This truck runs very well. I am at some altitude {5000FT}
when I lean this motor out just enough that when it warms up it runs well, the temp climbs to 320-340 deg. If I richen it up and I mean very little 1/32 of a turn it four strokes and runs raspy slow. I dont want to over lean it so I barely turn it lean just until it cleans up and runs ok the Wham! Im over 300 deg. I have removed the motor , replaced carb orings and checked the motor for any potential leaks...none. Heres the deal too, its not sparattic, it idles very well and low and is sensitive to adjustments. This tells me I probably have no air leak issuses, so why does it run so hot? I run a med Mcoy plug and have used both Traxxas 20% and Odonnel fuel with no difference. Its not the end of the world if I blow this engine but it bugs me to shorten its life with out knowing why. My LOH have said "if it wants to run at that temp then so be it" So any ideas or have any of you have a sim situation. Maybe its just fine? I doubt it. Thanks for your time.
