Default 8ight durability?

I am looking at picking up a 2 month old roller 8ight for $200. Here are my questions. First, i heard that after 1 or 2 races you need to rebuild most of the car. like cvd out drives, arms, bearings, ect... I heard almost everything wears out really fast. I was going over the car yesterday and saw a lot of worn out parts. Its only been raced 5 times. About 1 gallon total on the car. I have about 5 gallons on my Jammin x1-cr-ft and everything is still snug. I have only broken 1 shock shaft after rear ending a car. So i don't want a car thats needs weekly rebuilds. Second is the shocks. All i hear about is leaks. Is this true? I never leaked a drop from my jammin. Is it worth $200? Also is what i mentioned above true? I wll NEVER sell my Jammin but wouln't mind adding another GOOD buggy to my stable. Is it GOOD? Thanks for any help.
