RE: Very Fast DEEP-VEE
Sorry guys no video but do have some action shots of her and the pics of her early stages of development before full paint graphics where applied. The two sets of Lemans 360s are hooked into two gearboxes then to chrome bearing supported drive shafts tubes the drive tubes exit the transom it is a surface drive system. The drive shafts are solid steel rods 1/8" to handle the torque as you can see with four trim tabs and dual out drives she rode atop the water at lighting speed. And yes I later went to very sharp and balanced copper props for even grater speeds. She has lots of details even the fake engine compartment hatch was operated by servo and the heads of the guys also turned with the rudders. I made her for looks and detail but really never thought I would get any real speed from her but after her first few runs I knew I had a winner and with a little more tweaking she was a rocket. So I decided to adorn her with a very fast paint job she turned out absolutely gorgeous. The white is a glowing white pearl, the red is candy apple red over gold metal flake the pink and blue on the sides are also candy over silver. I dusted a bit of black on each side of that white section near the stern to make it appear to go behind it and it does. Sadly and regrettably I sold her to another club member a year ago to get funds for a bigger faster gas 50” Apache that turned out equally as good if not better. PS I did launch & load her from the truck and trailer (I custom built) many times. I sometimes hid near by a boat ramp backing down it as crowds gathered I then launched and sped off all watched with total amazement. After a few moments I then trailer landed her and drove away receiving cheering applause as they all looked around to see who was doing it. Life’s simple pleasures are grand!
