It depends on what your preference is. I like mine to hover at just above mid-throttle and I have about 1/8 inch of thread showing between my plastic rod ends. The longer the pitch link the more pitch is in the blade, and the less throttle it takes to get off the ground. When I was first learning, I had my blades pitched to lift off at about 1/4 throttle, but now that I'm getting a little more daring, I need to have that 1/2 + throttle to go into idle up. Like I said, it depends on your preference. If you're a newbie, you probably will want that higher pitch. There will be less head speed so the aircraft will be a bit more sluggish which will let you get used to what the different controls do without it running away from you. Don't pitch the blades too low though, or you'll get steady red on your 4-in-1 which means you're overdriving the heli.
