Well, I smashed by tail boom to bits today. I blew the drive end bushing out of the tail motor as well.

I think it's time for something better. What are people using to replace the tail boom other than CF?

I also need an opinion on a tail motor upgrade. I'm looking at a few options:

1 - DD w/ small prop

2 - DD w/ large prop

3 - EDF40 tail mod

4 - HDX300 heli w/ spektrum radio and brushless, then return the blade CPP to stock and sell it.

The DD tails are cheap to build and are supposed to hold fairly well.

I would like the extra stability that comes with a belt drive tail, but I don't want something the size of a Trex 450 quite yet.

I plan on going to a DX6 radio anyways, then for an extra chunk-o-moolah I can get a baby trex. The only real problem I see with that heli is the availability of parts. At least with a HDX450 you can chuck some trex parts on the machine when you mangle it.

Has anyone tried this heli? Do you like it? love it? hate it?
