Default RE: Super Reg

It seems that the general idea is to only use a Batshare or super -reg on a 50cc plane. While the super reg and power expander used together is typically used for 30% and above.
Is this to save weight ?? I am not really sure.. Also with the super-reg, using LI-Ion batteries in a redundancy setup, can the batteries plug directly into the super -reg, ( not using any switches on the battery side) and by using a single switch connected directly to the super -reg ( probably a flag pin arrangement) would the single swith then be capable of turning the batteries on & off.
So all i would need for my set up would be 2x Li-Ion batteries-connected directly to the super -reg, single switch, 2x output from the super -reg feeding my RX, How does that sound??

thanks
Dave
