Default RE: Best 100c class engine?

ORIGINAL: kolarshooter

The price is right though. Why not start a thread about the engine and tell us about it there as you break it in and get some hours on it. I'd subscribe and read with intrest.
Your right, I guess it may not qualify as THE BEST, I should have made it more clear, the best part is based on PRICE. I can't afford a 3W or DA both are better engines no doubt, those are BMWs and Cadillac's the LS-100 is more a Chevy, (I can't think of a Chinese car :^( ).

My opinion is also based on the LS-50 that I have, which I would take over a DA-50r. The Yak I bought had a DA-50r in it, I like my LS-50 better, it's very smooth and has never missed a beat. The DA-50r MAY be more powerful, I don't know though I suspect it is, but pure power isn't everything to ME, others it might be. I like the smoothness, the packaging, it'll fit inside of cowls much better than a big single, and the reliability, the LS-100 seems to have the same attributes.

I started a thread, but since then it's been blowing 20mph and snowing or raining, I did get out in the backyard for a tank or two. My engine is still breaking in it held 5800 rpm the day I flew it ,yesterday it could hold 6000 rpm I may get a bigger carb for it in the future but for now it has all the power I need, the Yak calls for up to an 80cc.
