No. Most sims just use the joystick signal. It's only the very few products like G3, AFPD and Reflex protecting their investment with a proprietary interface for copy protection. To see which sims don't use it, check this: http://www.milehighwings.com/sim_compatibility.htm. In Reflex you have to seperate. They have the interface blue or red and they have the cable going to the radio. Just the cable is no problem. The Interface is a problem.
