Throwing in my 2 cents. I have really never had a bad engine from any of the top manufacturers. There are many good 100cc class engines, at this time it is really hard not to choose the BME 115. Lighter than the rest and more power to boot. Balancing in not a problem if proper location of components are used. It will spin a Mejz 28x10 at 6800 give or take on stock mufflers once run in.
This is one of the most sensible answers I've read in a thread of this type. Often these threads dissolve into love fests and bash fests...usually DA vs 3W and more recently BME.
Didn't ask anyone at our club as I' was looking for a somewhat unbiased opinion lol. Any of these motors is going to be more than enough power for a Aeroworks Yak. I had a Lanier Extra 300 with a Quadra 100 in it...now that's heavy but flew great, more than enough power. I'm looking for something I don't have to worry about stopping 5' off the deck in a hover. Long time ago I bought a Rossi 1.05 for a new DF Mig 29. I'd put 1000's of flights on OS91's, but thought this has way more power. The hobby shop owner tried to talk me out of buying the Rossi but to no avail....one flight and a complete rekit. Learned my lesson lol!
