Plumbing is fine. I did buy this engine from a gentleman. He told me he ran 2 tanks of fuel through it. Funny the only thing that looks used is the spark plug. I guess I will call scott tomorrow and see what is up. This isn't my first gas engine, but I'm no expert with them either. I know something isn't right

Make sure you are plumbed like THIS picture. You cannot blow through a gas inlet line. Completely different than glow. You would not get a bad carb from him, as he runs everything in place.
Check all your plumbing against this picture.

Put that MSC 18x8 on er and see how close to 8,400 she spins it. -- It will probably be restricted by the muffler (too high rpms -- wrong prop for the motor), but my guess is the upper 7’s or so.
