Ken,
You mean if I had a set of plans laying around and wanted to sell them, I couldn't? I don't mean make a copy and sell them, but sell the genuine plans. I'm not trying to start an argument, just curious why it's any different than selling a used car or an old bicycle. I bought it so I should be able to sell it, right?

Most of us understand it as follows:
If you own an original set of plans, you can sell them. That's no different than selling a kit you bought (which includes the plans), but later decided not to build.
You can make a copy of a plan for your own personal use (backup), but you can not sell just that copy. Nor can you give away copies to a third party.
If you sell the original plan, you should include all copies with the sale, or destroy them.
Hope this helps. Gary
