Pattoncommander

Many people have commented on the Navy Flag. I actually saw a picture of a tank flying this. I suppose the commander could have lost a family member in a U boat, and is flying the flag as a memorial.???

The plan is to use an inverted colored pill bottle over the IR sensor with the parabolic mirror set on top of it. I also devised a lense that fits over the bbl of the T-34 to extend the range. It doesn't look prototypical but it does define and lengthen the range. Without the Lense, range is about 15 feet, with the lense I was at about 30 ft when I ran out of open room in my basement.

JerB, Uhu, and Wight

I have to install this system in a Bulldog and a Pershing. I will try and do a photo tutorial to capture my method when I work on the next ones. You get lights, and explosion sounds, but this doesn't interact with the tank drive. If I can find a spot on the henglong board that controls the recoil and cannon sound, I could tie into it so a hit would make the tank recoil. I have on old henglong board that still works except for the ESC, so I plan on doing some creative detective work hoping to find this area of the board before it fries. If I am successful, it will be a pretty decent system for the person who has basic soldering skills, and about $25.00 worth of parts.

Does anyone know what kind of range the Tamiya system has????
