As for me, reverse is the main reason i bought my revo, i was so amazed the first time i saw the revo back up!! I don't care about the few extra ounces the reverse gear adds, i don't care about the marginally slower acceleration, i don't even care much for racing my truck, i just want to have fun and love to see when it backs up!!

As 125cchyperman said having reverse is up to you!! Removing the drive shafts require you to unscrew two hex pins on the drive shaft on both sides of the tranny, unscrew them all the way out then you'll be able to slide the shaft up into its sleeve (making it shorter) and thats pretty much it!!
