RE: INTERSTING QUESTION?????
I'm self taught w/ 1 or 2 crashes under my belt after 6 years. I learned how to fly using a simulator from a college student and a mouse to steer with. Not a very good way to learn.
Everyone will want to do their flying/landing different. The easiest way for me to land is by watching the planes glide path. If the sucker's coming in at the right angle in relation to the runway and not descending too steep, don't move the elevator, but use the engine to control your height. I get it on a good glide path and let the rest take care of itself, otherwise I pull out.
That's what one chap at my club suggested: use the elevator to control your speed and the engine to control your height when landing. I use that method with mixed results.
It's all about the glide path.
It seems that more people are taking to cars then airplanes. I think that's because of how easy it is to control in relation.
