Please be aware that running your engine with the cylinder mounted horizontally will cause the cylinder to wear egg-shaped because of the pull of gravity acting on the piston. I know this because I was told this many times by Chevy owning adults when I was just a child (my father drove a Ford V8). I was always taught adults were never wrong.

You are overdone
The egg-shaped bore are caused of side thrust since compustion pressure against piston + angle of connecting rod who make more pressure against cylinder wall there the wall are worned out.
