I have one of those engines too and mine did the same thing but lasted for about 3 minutes into every flight then died! I even took the limites off and it still gave me trouble. Being a trainer and learning I didn't want to keep dead sticking it in. I finally changed out the engine to another one. A magnum .61 4 stroke works fine in my Alpha 40 trainer, I haven't had any trouble at all.
