Thanks for your info. What I'm really looking for, though, is specific info on what's happened (especially since 9-11) when they find out that there's a gas-turbine engine in the box you want to check. I've pretty much got the skinny on the freight options, but for my own reasons, I'm thinking about checking mine at the gate. I want to know if anyone's been told that they couldn't, and if so, what were the reasons/problems.
